I received a B.S. in Elementary Education from UNCG and received a Master's Degree in Reading in 2009 from North Carolina A&T State University.  With this degree I also received Reading Specialist Certification. I obtained National Board Certification in November 2012 in Early/Middle Childhood Literacy.

This is my 14th year teaching at Coleridge and my 10th year teaching third grade.  I love teaching, especially here!  We have a great little school surrounded by a wonderful community!

I have always wanted to be a teacher and couldn't imagine myself doing anything else.  My first grade teacher was my inspiration and I hope to be that type of teacher for my students as well.  It is my belief that ALL students have the potential to be successful at whatever they choose to do.

Some of the things I enjoy doing when I'm not teaching are spending time with my husband and 20 year old son (who is now a sophomore at NC State), going to church, and shopping.  My family and I are actively involved in Cedar Falls Baptist Church. We fully rely on God for direction and I truly believe it is in His will that I am a teacher.   Romans 10:9-10
