Thank you RCSS Principals! We appreciate all you do for our students!

Last week 3rd grade classes began their year of science by learning what a scientist is and how they can be scientists. The kids came up with a hypothesis on which method they thought would make “popcorn dance”. They used 3 different methods to test their hypothesis. They used baking soda and vinegar for method one, alka seltzer and water for method two, and just water for method three. Method one made the popcorn kernels bounce around the cup and rise to the top!
Huge SHOUTOUT to Ms. Robinson for her fantastic and engaging science plans! 🐝 🥼🧪🐝

Congratulations to our September STAR3 student, Emma, and STAR employee, Mrs. Traxler! They were recognized last night at the Board of Education meeting. 🐝

K-2 students are celebrating International Dot Day in Media classes this week. International Dot Day is a global celebration inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. 2024 is the 15th anniversary of the celebration!
After a read aloud of the book with Novel Effect students are creating their own dot and using the AR app Quiver to bring their dot to life!

Recently, 1st grade classes have been creating their classroom communities! They read "My Mouth is a Volcano" by Julia Cook. Then students did an activity where they tried to put toothpaste back in a tube. It was a nearly impossible task and showed students how once unkind words leave our mouth we can't take them back! Classes also read "Our Class is a Family" and Dr. Miller and Mrs. Lockhart-Ballard visited classrooms to read "Our School is a Family". Classes then created their Class Promise!

The Randolph County School System celebrated its outstanding educators at the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet on Tuesday, September 3, at Pinewood Country Club in Asheboro. Congratulations to Ms. Klein, Kindergarten teacher at Hopewell for being a finalist for teacher of the year. The "hive" is proud of you!

We are very excited about our new sensory walk! This will provide students with a safe area for movement to help with focus and calming.

Today was the first day of the 2024-2025 school for the Randolph County School System. It was a great day!

Happy First Day of School, Honeybees! It's going to be a GREAT day at the Hive!

Over the summer this group of Wheatmore High School students organized a school supply drive. They set up donation sites at several locations and today they delivered donated supplies to the Hive! We are so grateful to these AMAZING students and our generous community who supported their drive. Thank you Paige S, Mark T, Daylin L, Brandon F, and Dakota L!
