RCSS is currently offering a Community Priorities Assessment Survey. Postcards were mailed to all student homes and staff received postcards at their school. This survey is also open to the Randolph County community at large. We are asking that you please consider participating in this survey that is open until TOMORROW, October 31.
The Randolph County School System (RCSS), in partnership with the SchoolCAMP team from NC State University, is exploring school assignment and future facility planning needs in RCSS. Your input will help identify community challenges, values and priorities that will inform recommendations for future student assignment and school facility decisions. Students, staff & community members are invited to complete the survey. Responses will be combined and summarized by SchoolCAMP staff. Please complete the survey by Saturday, October 31, 2026. Your voice matters. Help us plan for the future of RCSS!

We are proud to recognize Ms. Galvan, one of our fourth grade teachers, for being the RCSS Nominee for NCCAT Beginning Teacher of the Year. We are thankful for Ms. Galvan and all she does for our school and community.
October 6th was Instructional Coach's Day! We are so thankful for Ms. Marley and the support she provides for our students and staff!
Red Ribbon Spirit Week will be Oct. 26-30! Remember the rules for costumes! No toy weapons, no face paint or masks, nothing scary, and the costume MUST follow dress code. If you have questions about your costume please reach out to your child's teacher!
October 2nd was Custodial Appreciation Day! We are very thankful for our custodians at CES! They are an important part of our staff and do so much to keep our school perfect for learning! We appreciate Ms. Bartell, Mr. Williams, and Mr. McNeill! Thank you for all you do!
October is AAC Awareness Month! Ms. Ritter used her AAC device to start morning announcements for students on Monday 10/12!
AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. It includes all the ways people communicate besides using their spoken voice.
We all use AAC sometimes such as when we wave hello, give a thumbs-up, smile, or shrug our shoulders.
For some people, other types of AAC are needed to help them communicate. Some may use sign language. Others may point to pictures. Other people may have a high-tech speech-generating device such as a tablet with a communication app on it; it will speak for them when they select words or pictures by touch or eye gaze.
People of all ages use AAC. Augmentative and Alternative Communication is so important because everyone has something important to say, whatever form of communication it takes!
